War Hill Park is a large park and campground on the north end of Lake Lanier, off Ga. 318. It has a large number of primitive campgrounds and for day visitors it has beaches, boat ramps and numerous picnic tables and grills alongside the lake.
Recently, plans have been put forward to turn the park into a public marina. Locals don't agree and you'll see many "Save War Hill Park" signs in nearby front yards.
