Little River Park is one of the smaller parks on the lake and is tucked just off Cleveland Highway, north of Gainesville. The park is a popular spot for early morning fishermen and is one of the best bass fishing areas on Lake Lanier. It has restrooms, two boat ramps, a fishing dock, picnic tables, and grills.How to get there: Head north out of Gainesville on Highway 129, heading towards Cleveland. You’ll pass Riverbend Elementary on the right and will cross over Lake Lanier via Longstreet Bridge. There will be a State Patrol office on the right. Shortly afterwards, there will be a small gas station on the left with “Solo” pumps. Turn into the little street beside this station onto Little River Park Road, turn left and head down “Little River Park Road” for about a 1/4 of a mile.Who uses the park: Dog-walkers and fishermen looking for a great launch area into the bass-rich parts of the lake.Facilities: Picnic tables, one grill, bathrooms, launch ramp, dock.Description: With the water level low at the moment, the park doesn’t look its best, but its a great spot for early morning fishermen to launch. The park is usually full by mid-morning on summer weekends.
