Camping

The Corps of Engineers invites you to get away to one of Lake Lanier's campgrounds.
Camping enthusiasts enjoy the luxuries of fully-developed areas with water and electrical hookups or "roughing it" at designated primitive areas. Camping in areas such as in day-use parks, on islands and on the shoreline is prohibited. Many of the campgrounds have campsites designed for wheelchair accessibility, including a group area within Shady Grove Campground.
Campsites are available on a "first come" basis. The camping fee entitles a specified maximum number of people to the full priviledges of the campground facilities. Visitors of registered campers are welcome so long as the total number at the campsite does not exceed the specified limit. Group camping facilities are available by reservation at Shoal Creek and Shady Grove campgrounds, with group assembly shelters available for campers using Old Federal campground. Camping on Corps of Engineers projects is limited to 14 days during a 30-day period.
