The Cabin at the End of the Trail

Written by
The cabin at the end of the trail, respite for my weary soul
Allow me just a lifetime here and I shall be rendered whole
Warmth of that sweet Georgia air, reflections off the lake
How there is a healing here, of which I must partake

The emeralds of the trees and leaves, the blooms along the trail
How can one not feel assured here, that God’s mercies never fail
The peace that overtaketh stress, the calm of early morning
The freshness of a tender rain, that came without a warning
How pristine the lovely hues, the sapphire blues at noon
Suns that rise and suns that set, and cause the heart to swoon
Oh this lovely dwelling, which harbors faith and love
From its paths that lead below, to beamed ceilings up above
And views, the views, the lovely views, that seem to so surround
This little piece of heaven ne’er ceases to astound
As there through glass awaits my love, my dear sweet Lake Lanier
I breathe a sigh, I stand in awe, and my eyes begin to tear
For in this cabin on this lake, dreams are made, hearts blessed
Perfection in its entirety, God’s very, very best!
