Lake Lanier Water Level Pushes Higher

Written by
Can you believe what is happening? Another rain system is going to dump 1-2 inches of rain within the next 24 hours.
This has been one of the wettest periods that I have ever seen in Georgia.  The area has already seen 16 inches of rain this Fall and even higher localized amounts.
Lake Lanier has has bounced back after the drought and is now over full pool.  The COE tried to lower the water level to 1070 by December 1st, however they were unsuccessful due to the weekly storm systems.  Currently the water level at Lake Lanier is at 1071.37 and rising.
The heavy rains will start impacting the are later today into tonight with some places seeing 3 plus inches of rain. How high will Lake Lanier get in the next 48 hours?  Good question!  I will post the answer later.
