Lake Lanier needs some tropical rain

Written by
Lake Lanier is continuing to drop.  Lake Lanier is currently at 1064.69 which is 6.31 feet below full pool.  The lake has dropped 1.17 feet since July 17th.  The good news is that several tropical systems are heading this way and will hopefully dump some rainfall into the Lake Lanier basin.  Tropical Storm Claudette impacted the Florida Panhandle this morning and is moving towards us.  Lake Lanier could rise very quickly with a tropical system that stalls out over the basin for Lake Lanier.  Will Claudette be the storm that makes the water level rise at Lake Lanier?  Only time will tell...
