Lake Lanier has been dropping all week and according to a judge the water being used for the Atlanta area is being extracted "illegally". This is the latest news in the water battle at Lake Lanier.  Governor Sonny Perdue is making an appeal on the ruling forcing the final decision to come from the U.S. Congress. If Atlanta looses the ability to pull water from Lake Lanier, then the lack of a water supply could threaten the economy of Atlanta.  In the meantime, Lake Lanier is dropping and the current water level is 1065.53.  This means that Lake Lanier is now almost 5.5 inches below full pool.
