Lake Lanier Association December Updates

Written by

We are pleased to announced that you now can donate your boat, auto or RV that is not longer needed to the Lake Lanier Association through Action Donation Services.

You will receive the maximum legal tax deductions and possibly a partial cash payment. For more information about your potential donation, please contact Action Donation Services directly. You can receive a 'no obligation' evaluation by completing the form on their Web site or by calling them toll-free at 866-244-8464. Action Donation Services will handle the donation including completing the paperwork and picking up the boat or vehicle, and your donation will benefit the Lake Lanier Association's active representation of Lake Lanier in the Tri-States lawsuits and help us implement our other programs.

For details of how your donation will be handled and for basic tax information, please read the donor section on Action Donation Services' Web site. For additional tax information, please consult your tax professional.

The board of directors thanks all those who responded to our email of November 12, 2009 asking for your opinion of 1073 as a permanent full pool for Lake Lanier. Of approximately, 500 respondents, 94% were in favor of raising the lake level, citing additional storage and the health and beauty of the lake. Those not in favor were generally concerned about shoreline erosion, lack of beaches, and dock, stairs and rip rap issues. Residents in the Wahoo Creek area wrote that they would have not access to the lake because of Mt. Vernon bridge.

We appreciated the detailed responses and the photos you sent us. Thank you very much.

The Lake Lanier Association will again be participating in the Atlanta Boat Show at the World Congress Center in January. If you are going to the show, please stop by and visit us at booth 232. Boat show dates and times are:
