I Love This! Lake Lanier Docks Pointing Up

Written by

We're nearly at 1073 feet above sea level now thanks to Tropical Storm Ida ... two feet above full pool.

For the last few years we've been used to docks pointing downwards at sickening angles. Today for the first time, I saw something that stopped me in tracks as it was so crazy-looking ... a dock was actually sloping up. Someone would need to walk up from land to reach their dock.

Here's a photo of the same thing at our local park. Two years ago I remember seeing a fisherman use the sides of the walkway as a ladder to get down to his boat - the ramp was sloping downwards at about 60 degrees. A few weeks later and the dock itself was on day land. Today, that same ramp is sloping gently upwards :)
