February 2011 Updates from the Lake Lanier Association

Written by

lakelanierorg

You may have seen the recent articles in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Gainesville Times regarding the Association's campaign to raise the level of Lake Lanier by 2 feet. Raising Lanier not only can provide a deeper and more resilient source of water for North Georgia, it can be part of an overall solution in the Water Wars. This is a renewed push for a solution we have been working on since 2007. Given the impact lake levels have on property values and recreation, we will continue to focus our attention on practical solutions to the Water Wars that protect the lake for everyone. For more details, watch for our next newsletter.

Social Event

Mark your calendar for a "Mix and Mingle" for LLA members! We will be meeting at The Coo Coo's Nest on Pilgrim Mill Road on Saturday, February 26th at 7:00PM. If you would like to come out and meet some other LLA members, please join us! Feel free to bring a friend-the more the merrier!
Lake Lanier Association

The Lake Lanier Association serves as the voice of citizens around Lake Lanier and across the region, striving to represent all aspects and users of the lake, from recreation to fish and wildlife to homeowners. The association seeks to use a balanced approach to protect Lake Lanier, recommending reasonable solutions to issues that affect the lake, such as water quality and quantity.
