Atlanta Sail and Power Squadron The Atlanta Sail and Power Squadron is the largest fraternity of boaters in the United States. The Atlanta squadron includes around 225 members, and is evenly split with powerboat operators and sailors. Members have pontoon boats, trailered sailboats, bass boats, big cruisers, live-aboard sailboats, and there are some members with no boats at all. The three objectives of the squadron are to promote boating safety through education, provide friendship and social events, and to perform a civic service. They offer a public boating course and hold open meetings for people interested in joining the squadron. Members have the benefit of owning a boat, but none of the hassles associated with ownership. Members can enjoy boating and FBC's fleet on Lake Lanier and 35 other Freedom Boat Club locations.
