History

LLA LogoFounded in 1966, the Lake Lanier Association is the oldest volunteer group working to protect the high water quality as well as water quantity levels of Lake Lanier and to preserve its valuable legacy for future generations. The Lake Lanier Association sponsors many programs to keep the water and shorelines clean and beautiful for all users. A group of homeowners on the lake originally founded the Lake Lanier Association to advocate for the lake.

Present Day

The group has evolved and grown to a 4,500 member organization with a variety of missions and programs, acting as an education and knowledge resource for many government and private groups interested in the health of the lake. The group is comprised of lake residents, individuals, families, businesses, boaters and fishermen dedicated to preserving the lake for future generations.

Projects

The Lake Lanier Association sponsors many programs designed to keep the water and shorelines clean and beautiful for all the people of Georgia. The Lake Lanier Association serves as the voice of citizens around the lake and across the region, striving to represent all aspects and users of the lake, from recreation to fish and wildlife to homeowners. The association seeks to use a balanced approach to protect the interests of all of its members, recommending reasonable solutions to issues that affect the lake.

I know this organization is trying to increase property values on the lake. That is good. You do great work with regards to shore cleanup, etc. Can we not up the ante and get involved the COE in a more effective manner? As we all know, no one of the public can infiltrate the COE with emails, phone calls, etc. As users of the lake we now need a call from all organizations that represent the lake, including yourselves and Coalition 1071, to step it up. The recent flood situation and the inactivity of the COE to take steps to help this situation are appalling! All members need to voice their opinion and soon!

I live on lake lanier and want to express my thoughts on the water level. I live in Hall county near C24 and the water level is fine and has no negative impact on us.

Regards,

Angelo Conti
