Daytime Fishing Tournaments Back Print

Balus Creek ParkLake Lanier has risen nearly six feet over the last month and so the Corps of Engineers has decided to allow daytime fishing tournaments to resume.

Nightime tournaments are still prohibited because of the low water levels and boating hazards. The lake would need to rise another 8 feet for that to change.

One the bright side, the lake is now at 1056 feet which is five feet higher than this time last year. The huge new tournament-quality boat ramp at Laurel Park will open in the next few months which will provide an additional tournament venue in addition to Little Hall Park and Balus Creek Park.
