We have a new winner in the marina category. Holiday Marina won in 2007 and 2008, but this year lost a very narrow competition to both Port Royale and the eventual winner Aqualand Marina:
The favorite park question was asked for the first time this year and votes were very widely spread with nearly ever park getting at least one vote. Old Federal Park in Flowery Branch came out on top:
Old Federal Park won the park category and was very nearly voted as the lake's favorite campground. However, it lost narrowly to Lake Lanier Islands:
We have a new winner this year. After Big Creek Tavern won for two years in a row, this time by an even larger percentage, it was narrowly edged out this time by Skogies at Gainesville Marina:
There was no contest in the event category. The annual 4th of July fireworks ran out a clear winner:
When it comes to years spent visiting the lake, people answering the survey provided very similar answers to last year ... we've everyone from newcomers to old-timers who have been here over 50 years:
Even more than in previous years, people come to Lanier to boat, boat, boat:
The vast majority of people answering our survey live right on or right next to Lake Lanier:
We've had mixed answers in the past, but in 2009 there was only ever going to be one winner:
Why do people love Lanier? Its more convenient larger than the other lakes within reach of Atlanta:
