Lake Lanier

Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater

Shane Watson Guide Service Sunday Report. The striper fishing has been sporadic this week. Some mornings we've had 20-30 fish catch and release trips, only to go back the next morning and work for 4 or 5. Downlined bluebacks fished 35-60 feet deep over a 65-120 foot bottom on the main lake and in the mouths of southend creeks are still working. Leadcore will produce best if the fish are scattered. Keep moving until you find fish, blind fishing is hit or miss at best. There are fish out in the main channel south, over the trees in deeper creek channels after the sun gets up, and also on a 65-75 foot slick bottom just off the main lake, once the sun gets up overhead. Overall, it has been on fire with 20-30 fish on a 4 hour trip or they have been been scattered and we've struggled for 4 or 5. Tomorrow is Labor Day and the store will be having the "Blueback Lottery". This means all bluebacks will be 3.99 per dozen, Monday from open till close. Come on out and enjoy the savings. The bait looks great and it is the perfect size for downlining. Store hours are from 5:00 am till 8:00 pm. We appreciate everyone's business. This report is brought to you by Shane Watson Guide Service and Hammond's Fishing Center. Good Fishing.
